|Maria Abragan, Summer Intern
We usually have a Middlebury College intern for the summer. This year we have Maria! She is an international student from the Philippines, studying Geography and Environmental Studies at Middlebury College. Fun fact: She has visited 15 countries within 5 years of studying abroad! She will be taking care of the TAM, working with John Derick, and working on our map projects as a joint position with MALT and the Middlebury College Geography Department.
|Katherine Branch, Outreach and Office Volunteer
Katherine has volunteered off and on over the years, and is back helping with our educational hikes and office things.
|John Derick, Trail Coordinator
John manages the Trail Around Middlebury by scouting out wet areas, checking the bridges, finding down trees and cutting brush and mowing. He also rounds up groups of volunteers to help out.
|Rachael Gosselin, Bookkeeper
Rachael has taken care of our finances for over 10 years, and drops in to help with events as well. We are very fortunate to have her, as she has about 10 jobs (we are guessing). She likes to stay busy!
|Dave Hallam, Database Volunteer
Dave has been helping out at the MALT office for over 10 years, keeping the database up to date, donating computers and cheering up the office with treats. We couldn’t manage without him!
|Jamie Montague, Executive Director
Jamie is honored to serve the greater Middlebury community at MALT. With an Environmental Science degree from the University of Rochester and a Master’s of Natural Resource Management from the University Centre of the Westfjords in Iceland, Jamie brings a strong science background and professional experience in several non-profit settings. She worked as a naturalist in the Adirondacks, coordinated Citizen Science and Education programs in Washington state, and most recent served as the Education Director at Audubon Vermont.
Jamie thrives on the challenge of inspiring others to live as stewards of the environment and gets particularly excited about maple syrup and fall colors! In her free time you will find her running, hiking, and biking with family, knitting Icelandic sweaters, and baking her way through old-fashioned cook books.
|Joni Osterhaudt, Stewardship and Outreach Coordinator
Joni has been at MALT since fall of 2006. Originally from Brockport, NY; Joni came to VT by way of Flagstaff, Arizona and Salem, Massachusetts. Joni lives in Orwell, where her husband Dan Redondo runs Vermont Wetland Plant Supply.
