Position Overview
MALT is seeking a dynamic Director of Development & Engagement to help grow revenue and the community support that powers our conservation, trails, and education programs across Addison County. This leadership role will build relationships with donors, partners, and community members while helping expand fundraising initiatives and events such as the beloved TAM Trek trail race (now in its 23rd year). This is a salaried, full-time (40/hour week) position.

The Director works closely with MALT’s Executive Director and sits at the heart of our community engagement. The ideal candidate is a results-oriented fundraiser who enjoys meeting new people, cultivating donors, and sharing the stories that inspire people to support conservation.

As MALT advances our ambitious Vision 2040—expanding conserved lands, growing our trail network, and increasing environmental education opportunities across the region—this role will play a central part in building the resources and partnerships needed to make that vision possible. As the organization grows, this position will help lead that growth, with opportunities for the role and compensation to grow as well.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has high-end fundraising skills and also enjoys connecting people to nature and community through storytelling, partnerships, and fundraising leadership.

How to Apply:

Travis Kornegay

Stewardship & Environmental Educator

Travis is serving as this year’s Stewardship & Environmental Educator through the VHCB AmeriCorps program. His interest in environmental conservation grew from an active childhood outdoors and involvement in the Boy Scouts of America, where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout, as well as his undergraduate studies in natural resources at the University of Connecticut.
