WHAT: Vernal Pool Walk with Andrew L’Roe

Explore the hidden world of vernal pools and the fascinating creatures that depend on them!

What exactly is a vernal pool? Join us as we welcome back Vermont Master Naturalist and vernal pool monitor Andrew L’Roe to find out. Discover the hidden drama unfolding in these ephemeral springtime pools, and enjoy an up-close look at breeding amphibians and other creatures that call them home—if only for a few short weeks. You’ll also learn about ways to get involved in amphibian conservation in Addison County and beyond.

From there, we’ll take a pleasant half-mile walk through the woods to the vernal pool. If you are unable to make the walk please let us know, some parking is available at our southern parking lot.
